BrightIQ is an AI-powered educational planning platform designed to help homeschool families in the United States create personalized homeschool plans. The Service includes a multi-step intake wizard, AI-generated homeschool plans, state legal compliance summaries, curriculum recommendations, a daily learning log, a community tips board, and an AI chat advisor.
The Service is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional legal, educational, medical, or financial advice.
You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. The Service is intended for use by families in the United States.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized account access.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your family profile. Providing false information may result in account termination.

The legal summaries and compliance checklists generated by BrightIQ are AI-generated approximations for general informational purposes only.
You should always verify your state's current homeschool regulations directly with your state Department of Education, a licensed attorney, or a recognized homeschool advocacy organization such as the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) before making any compliance decisions. BrightIQ is not responsible for any legal consequences arising from reliance on information provided by the Service.
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate homeschool plans, curriculum recommendations, legal summaries, scheduling suggestions, and chat responses. You acknowledge that:

The Community tips board allows authenticated users to post tips, advice, and experiences. By posting content, you grant BrightIQ a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute your content within the Service.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate community standards. Community tips represent the opinions of individual users and do not represent the views of BrightIQ.
The BrightIQ platform, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by BrightIQ and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without express written permission.
AI-generated plans and content produced for your family profile are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may export and share your plan for personal homeschool planning purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit AI-generated plans.
The Service integrates with third-party services including Google OAuth for authentication and AI API providers for content generation. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. BrightIQ is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
Links to external websites (such as brightiq.org, curriculum providers, or HSLDA) are provided for convenience. BrightIQ does not endorse and is not responsible for the content of external websites.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We do not guarantee any specific academic, legal, or personal outcomes from use of the Service. Educational results depend on many factors beyond the scope of this platform.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BRIGHTIQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to BrightIQ in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify you via the platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
